Metropolitan Sleep Disorders Center (MSDC) is owned and operated by St. Paul Lung Clinic (SPLC) – formerly Pulmonary & Critical Care Associates – an independent, physician-owned practice and Minnesota’s oldest and largest pulmonary, critical care and sleep disorders clinic.

In the 1990s, as the area of sleep medicine began emerging, there was growing awareness of the connection between breathing and sleep disorders. As a pioneer in this field, as measuring techniques and therapies were becoming available, SPLC opened its Metropolitan Sleep Disorders Center in 1997 for diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.

Continuing our legacy of innovation, SPLC now has the first sleep clinic in the U.S. to offer home diagnostic kits for obstructive sleep apnea. Introduced in Israel and used throughout Europe, this equipment has been highly successful in diagnosing sleep apnea on patients in their own homes.

At MSDC and SPLC, all of our physicians are board certified in two or more areas of medicine including internal, pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. This means staying on top of our specialty with the most current methods and tools, but just as importantly, treating our patients with the understanding they deserve.

We at MSDC strive to provide the best available care for our patients. We work closely with each individual’s primary care provider to help you learn about your condition and treatment options. Our priority is finding a treatment program that fits both your particular needs and lifestyle.
