A Step-by-Step Look at What to Expect During Your Sleep Study

At Metro Sleep Center, we’re committed to making your visit comfortable, clear, and stress-free. Here’s exactly what you can expect during your overnight sleep study experience.

Arriving at Metro Sleep Center

  • Arrive at your scheduled appointment time and check in with the front desk

  • Complete your registration form and pre-sleep questionnaire

  • Bring your ID, insurance card, medication list, and sleepwear for a comfortable night

Monitoring Equipment & Setup

  • Sensors will be gently placed on your head, face, legs, chest, waist, and finger

  • These monitor brain waves, oxygen, heart rate, snoring, eye movement, and breathing

Preparing for the Study

  • Avoid caffeine and naps, and stick to your usual routine before your study

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing to help with sensor placement

  • Bring any comfort items that help you relax during your stay

Overnight Monitoring

  • You’ll sleep in a comfortable, home-like room

  • A sleep technician monitors your study remotely throughout the night

Exploring the Space

  • After check-in, you’ll be guided to your private sleep suite

  • Enjoy a cozy bed, clean bathroom, and complimentary refreshments

  • Our staff will ensure you're comfortable and answer any final questions before your study begins

Morning Routine

  • Sensors are removed in the morning

  • You’ll complete a brief post-sleep questionnaire

  • Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, or light refreshments before heading out
